After not touching a brush since school (1985) but always drawing as a child,
I picked it back up in 2016 and I can’t see myself putting it down any time soon .
I started with Acrylics but soon found water colour to be what I loved to paint with. It moves, flows and can’t be controlled a lot of the time and creates some wonderful textures.
I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of nature so that is what I’ve been painting but I also don’t like “run of the mill” so adding texture, colour and a different way of looking at things, has become key elements of my work.
Art speaks to me so I wanted my art to speak to those who saw it too. While I was starting out I didn’t feel my message was clear so I wrote poetry to go along side my art, I haven’t stopped writing either.
I’m still exploring my journey into this wonderful new realm and hopefully my paintings will make you smile and, for me, that is the reason I paint.
I am currently living in Scotland to be close to our new grandson. Our plans to travel back and forth have come to a halt with covid, but if we had to be “stuck” anywhere, Scotland is a beautiful place to be stuck in!
